Shanks is gonna get word of Luffy (and Law maybe) absolutely pummelling Kaido and is just gonna sit there like the proud papa pineapple he is like «my soN he’s done it he’s a strong boy!» while panicking over Luffy’s obvious lack of self-preservation (like Sabo). So basically I can’t wait for Luffy and Shanks to meet up.

i like to think that most of the interior of his ship is just plastered with copies of luffy’s bounty poster (and maybe some of usopp too bc yasopp is like bITCH my son is GOD make room for him!!!!) and any news clipping that SLIGHTLY mentions luffy. u just walk in the captain’s quarters and ur eyes meet about 397492734 luffy’s. shanks sits back in his chair “yes welcome that’s my son what do u want”

the second he catches wind of a victory over kaido he’ll hunt down every article possible and slap those on each of his crew member’s foreheads but at the same time he’d be internally screaming because ohmyFUCKINGgodluffywhattheFUCKyoujustCLAPPEDkaido’sASSthat’sNOTsafe

there’s like this “luffy crisis hotline” that connects people like shanks and dadan and sabo and makino and whoever else worries about luffy every day (that’s like everyone) so shanks picks it up and just starts yelling only to be greeted by sabo yelling at a higher frequency on the other end

they yell “LUFFY” back and forth to each other for like 5 minutes at varying volumes and then “LUFFY AND KAIDO” for another 5 minutes
